Once you have reached Treriksröset there are three ways of going back. That is if you don’t turn around and hike back to Smygehuk.
- Boat from Golddaluokta to Kilpisjärvi. From Treriksröset only 3 km. NB: the timedifference btw SE and FI. Boatinfo here.
- Hike back to Kilpisjärvi following the Nordkalottleden from Treriksröset through the Malla Strict Nature Reserve, roughly 10 km and a bit of roadwalk. From Kilpisjärvi bus South to Karesuando (FI), then bus to Kiruna (SE). These busses are NOT coordinated. Or bus North to Tromsø (NO) and fly home.
- The Tromsø Exit. Continue to hike in Norway to Goldahytta, Gappohytta and down in the Signaldalen to Rognli from where you might hitchhike to Hatteng.
Here you have a shop (COOP Prix)*, a restaurang (Mett & Go) with a camping. The bus to Tromsø leaves just outside. Once in Tromsø there are plenty of shops and places to stay. Easy busride to the airport.
